Shoemyer's Weekly Column

Hello everyone, we are so glad to have you joining us as our blog continues to develop! Recently we discovered an informative collection of articles written by Senator Shoemyer posted on Kirksville's Heartlandconnection news website. Each week Shoemyer updates his district on his recent activities and informs citizens about important actions of the government. In this past week’s article, which was posted on September 16th, Shoemyer discusses several important issues:

-Election season is often heated and filled with negativity between candidates but the end will come and -Shoemyer hopes the representatives and senators will put these arguments behind them and serve the state in the best way possible.

-Every state Senator of Missouri comes from a different community and thus deliberating may occur but in the end they are all citizens of this state focused on doing whats best for the public
Shoemyer also hopes that, no matter who wins the election, the Senate traditions of the minority and majority trying their best to work together will continue

Shoemyer on the move: This past week Shoemyer also traveled to Kansas City for the 52nd Governor’s Conference on Economic Development. The conference was working to improve the status of the job market in Missouri.

I really enjoy reading these weekly columns because it helps me to get a feel for the type of person Shoemyer is and it is interesting to see what he picks out to share with the citizens of his community instead of what the media decides to share with us. We will definitely be continuing to share these articles with you all and would love to hear some comments or any type of feedback!
