Read between the lines...

Hello again! If you didn’t catch our last post I just wanted to remind everyone again that there are onlyTWO MORE DAYS to register to vote. Do it now so you can help us elect the best man for the job, Wes Shoemyer!

Read outside the party lines! While investigating some of Shoemyer’s stand points on issues over the weekend we found a few things that we wanted to share with our readers. Throughout history, Democrats have tended to be anti-2nd Amendment (the right to bear arms) while most republicans tend to support this amendment. Shoemyer, although a democrat, sticks with the values of many of the citizens of his district and supports 2^nd amendment rights.

In past years Shoemyer has consistently been given an “A” rating by the National Rifle Association (NRA) which is defined on the Second Amendment Coalition of Missouri website as a “Solidly pro-gun candidate. A candidate who has supported NRA positions on key votes in elective office or a candidate with a demonstrated record of support on Second Amendment issues.” Check out their site for more information on the NRA rankings.

Shoemyer also recently showed his support of 2^nd amendment rights this past summer by agreeing with the Supreme Court’s ruling against Chicago’s city-wide handgun ban--which was declared a violation of our nation’s constitution. If Shoemyer is re-elected it is clear that he will stick with his stance and continue voting in favor of 2^nd amendment rights!

If you would like more information on more of Shoemyer’s stances on important issues the best idea would be to look at his past voting records, as well as committees he belongs to, on the Missouri State Senate Website.

A website that is great for seeing how Shoemyer is ranked by different interest groups (such as the ranking discussed above), as well as his voting track record with descriptions of the bills he voted on, isProject Vote Smart.
